The Government of India does not recognize Color Blindness as a disability. According to the Medical norms a colourblind positive person is not eligible for the following jobs either it is officer grade or clerk.
- All types of Driving License(2 Wheeler, 4 wheeler ,heavy etc)
- All types of Defense forces jobs ( Airforce , Navy , Army)
- All types of Central Armed Police Force (Assam Rifles (AR), Border Security Force (BSF),Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF),Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP),National Security Guard (NSG),Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).
- UPSC (IES,IPS , NDA and CDS etc )
- All types of Railway jobs
- All types of Metro Rail jobs
- All types of police force jobs
- Almost all PSU through GATE (ONGC Ltd,NTPC ,IOCL,NPCIL,GAIL,DRDO,BHEL Etc).
- Research jobs Scientists(DRDO, ISRO Etc)
- All types of Transport authority jobs
- Food and art critics (yes, them too)
- Doctors – not total contraindication. One of my mentors was partially colourblind but was an incredible eye surgeon. Several of my colleagues are colourblind.
- Engineers- especially the non coding type- like electrical, mining,mechanical, chemical.
- Agricultural department.
